Transffering the files

After a few coffees and some common sense got my website onto a sub domain called http://smithdesigns.myartsonline.com/

I then transfered all my SWF files over to dreamweaver,
(including my index.html file)

Then i logged into my awardspace account to test the ftp sterver,

Luckily i wasn't one of the people who had a problem with my files being connected properly with my web address but unfortunately my website goes slow for some reason and i don't know why that is.

Printscreens of my website

After a long time trying to decide what style website i wanted i have decided to keep it simple and nothing too confusing. Here are some screenshots of my website.

Illustration page

I know its a simply laid out website but i never wanted it to be to difficult to work, i aimed to create an easily navigationable website.

Fonts i thought would work

When looking at these fonts i was looking for a straight edge with a nice serif so it looks neat but hand drawn.
Here are three fonts i have looked at.

I don't like the top one, i feel that its not clear enough and doesn't capture what i am wanting for my website.

As you can see from these close ups that the bottom font which is called "Grutchshaded" This font is what i was looking for because of the clarity and also the thickness in shade.

Fonts i found on Dafont.

I was looking around for a font that would suit my website so i went to Dafont, which is a font website that my teacher from college informed me about. After looking through this website i found a selection a varied style fonts which would all be appropriate for my sketch style website.

As you can see these styles look hand drawn so im going to Download a few and see what would suit my website.

When making my website i wanted to give it quite a rough looking website like an artists desk with pens, rubbers and sketches. i want to do this because it will reflect on the rough idea person i am, it also reflects on how organised i am and also my creative twang.

I didn't want to do normal looking buttons so i decided to used ripped paper with the word wrote on the paper to keep that feel of a hand crafted website.

just something i found interesting that i would like on my website.

I found this quite interesting as i'm quite fond of watching stephen fry on QI, this Animated typography shows the  words appearing at the same time as he is saying them. This would take a lot of time and patience would have to be applied to create something as smooth flowing as this.

Fun in flash

I found an add agency that has done a website just for the fun of it, it shows a person head and you can interchange their facial features such as eyes, nose, mouth, hair etc....
Its really fun and there is also 759,375 different faces that you can make. This really gives people a way of having fun, wasting time and in one case being creative......
Here are a few Screenshots

It is quite amusing come to think of it and i think it would be a nice feature to a website  that attracts fun creative enthusiasts.
